Muhammad Halim Setiawan Achieves Outstanding Success at the 2025 Asian Powerlifting Championship
Hong Kong, April 2025 — Indonesian powerlifter Muhammad Halim Setiawan achieved an impressive international accomplishment after securing First Place in the Open 66 kg Bodyweight Class at the Asian Equipped Sub Junior, Junior, Senior (Open) & Master (Men & Women) Powerlifting Championship, held in Hong Kong from 20 to 24 April 2025. Representing Indonesia, Muhammad Halim Setiawan delivered an outstanding performance throughout the competition. In the squat event, he successfully lifted 290.0 kg, earning first place. He continued his strong performance in the bench press with a lift of 200.0 kg, once again securing first place. In the deadlift, Halim recorded an impressive 250.0 kg, finishing in second place. Combining his three lifts, Muhammad Halim Setiawan achieved an overall total of 740.0 kg, which placed him first overall in the Open 66 kg Bodyweight Class. His achievement reflects exceptional strength, discipline, preparation, and determination in competing at the international level. The championship was organized by the Asian Powerlifting Federation (APF) and recognized by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) and the World Games Federation. Halim's achievement was officially recognized through a certificate issued by the Asian Powerlifting Federation and signed by Farshid Soltani, President of APF, and Rajesh Tiwari, General Secretary of APF. This remarkable achievement in Hong Kong marks a proud moment for Indonesian powerlifting and demonstrates the ability of Indonesian athletes to compete and excel on the Asian stage.
